Why did we build a process event detection & analysis module?
Factry built its Event Module to help teams go beyond timestamps — and unlock contextual insights hidden in production data.

This video explains the fundamental motivation behind building Factry’s Process Event Detection & Analysis Module: time-series data on its own isn’t enough. While raw historian data tells you what happened at a specific moment — “temperature was 25°C at 13:00” — most business and operational questions are contextual: What batch was running? Which order? When did the changeover happen? As manufacturing teams matured, they began asking for structured insights that go beyond timelines — they wanted events, not just values. The module was built to make that possible. It enables teams to define what an event looks like (a stop, a cleaning, a batch, a fault), detect it automatically, and aggregate related data within its time window. The output is a relational, structured dataset that integrates into reporting tools and workflows — making it accessible beyond the historian or SCADA interface. This opens up process data to quality teams, management, data scientists, and anyone looking to tie real-world activity to business KPIs.
