The function

As Software Engineer you will play a key role in the FactryOS team, owning complex features from design to delivery. Your primary domain is frontend (Svelte), with roughly a 60/40 split between frontend and backend work (Go, PostgreSQL). The team is small and technically capable. Beyond engineering quality, you bring structure and a natural
tendency to bring people together.

You will:

• Design and implement complex features across the FactryOS stack
• Own specific product domains or technical components end-to-end
• Contribute to architectural decisions and challenge poor design constructively
• Raise the quality of code reviews, testing, and engineering practices across the team
• Mentor less experienced engineers through pairing and guidance
• Work closely with the Product Owner to translate customer needs into realistic solutions
• Interact directly with industrial customers, production managers, and operators

Who we are looking for

You are a seasoned software engineer who takes ownership of complex work, raises the standard around you, and communicates well across a team. You are frontend-dominant but comfortable across the full stack. You use AI tools as a normal part of how you work, and you have the maturity to know when to trust them and when to scrutinise them.

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with meaningful frontend ownership
• Proficient in Svelte or a comparable modern framework, and Go, or able to move into both quickly
• Strong grasp of backend, database, and system design concepts
• Experience in an adjacent operational domain: manufacturing, logistics, ERP, or similar environments where correctness and reliability matter
• You actively use AI tools in your daily work, not experimentally, but as a normal part of how you write, review, and reason about code. You have opinions on where they help and where they mislead.
• You communicate clearly, navigate ambiguity without freezing, and push back on bad ideas without making it personal
• You make the people around you better, not through authority, but through how you work
• Proficient in English; Dutch is a plus
